Today Marcel would have played the program below in Strasbourg (France). Because of Covid-19 this concert has been cancelled and postponed. Instead of the concert in Strasbourg Marcel will play the program ‘De l’eau courante’ two times today as a livestreaming.

‘Water in the visual arts’ was the subject matter of a series of lectures that would be given in various museums in Strasbourg. For his concert Marcel composed, upon request of the Association Theo van Doesburg (based in this French city), a  program titled ‘running water’ (De l’eau courante in French). Energy, movement, flow, transformation are associations water evokes. The  Courante (courant in French = running, flowing), the fast dance movement that’s always present in the baroque Suite, can be seen as a musical equivalent of these associations. The Courantes by J.S. Bach form the thread through this program.
