Recording of the second CD of a double CD for the label Zefir Records with Preludes and Fugues by Bach, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich and the Chaconne by Bach in the transcripton for piano by Ferruccio Busoni. Mendelssohn published his 6 Preludes and Fugues op.35 in 1837. On the double CD these are combined with Preludes and Fugues by Bach and Shostakovich in the same keys as those of Mendelssohn. In this way the historical development of this musical genre becomes audible.
